Female Workers Migrants Outreach Programme 2026

The Singapore Sri Lanka Business Association (SLBA) recently hosted its 4th annual Sri Lankan Female Migrant Workers Outreach Programme on Sunday 27 September, bringing together almost 200 participants for an empowering day of learning, wellness, and community connection.
Guest of Honour Mr. Priyanga Nanayakkara, Minister at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore, opened the event alongside SLBA executive committee members with a traditional oil lamp lighting ceremony. Designed to offer practical knowledge and long-term security, the day featured key sessions across financial security with Sri Lanka Insurance, women’s healthcare led by Dr. Tash Mirando (Osler Health), community safety with the Singapore Police Force, and an interactive movement session with Yoga for a Change.
The afternoon highlighted community resilience through cultural dance, music, and poetry, alongside inspiring personal stories from Nilushika Silva Jayaweera (founder of Nilu Tea and Aidha alumna) and Rupa Hemathie Dissanayake. The programme concluded with skills sessions, stalls, certificate distributions, and partner NGO booth interactions.
