The Singapore Apex Business Summit was held between the 22nd-and 25th of March 2022 at the Sand Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.
With a successful turnout of over 5,000 delegates from around the world. It featured speakers such as The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Minister Heng Swee Keat, Minister of Finance- Minister Lawrence Wong, Mr Chun Li- CEO of Lazada Group, Mr Yam Li Young- CEO of Singapore Business Federation.
With speeches about sustainable business practices and accelerating business transformation in an endemic world, the delegates were engaged with insights from the last few years and the sustainable strategies for businesses in the years to come.
The SLBA was also present at the summit representing Sri Lanka from the perspective of driving future collaborations between Sri Lanka and Singapore. The bilateral trade relationship that has spanned over 50 years has seen both nations benefit from a Free Trade Agreement that continues to develop today.
Accelerating sustainable exports out of Sri Lanka has been one of the key initiatives that the SLBA has got behind. Thus, featuring a booth that showcased some of Sri Lanka’s sustainably sourced and ethically produced brands was an opportunity to further collaborate on Singapore’s food diversification strategies.
We saw visits from the likes of:
• HE Sashikala Premawardhane- High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore
• Minister Gan- Minister for Trade and Industry
• Minister Teo- Minister for Communication and Information
• Minister Ling- Minister of Culture Community and Youth
And over a hundred other delegates were present across the four days of the event. We hope that this exposure and collaboration will help further to drive even stronger ties between the two nations.
